Our Adak Travel Guide is Live!

At the mid-western reach of the Aleutian chain, where the wind speaks loudly and seabirds outnumber people, lies a place unlike any other: Adak. And now, there’s a new way to prepare for your journey to this one-of-a-kind destination.

Aleut Ventures is proud to announce the release of Adak: A Travel Guide, a free resource to help travelers make the most of their experience on Adak Island.

Whether you’re visiting for work, recreation, or reflection, Adak: A Travel Guide has everything you need to know—from travel logistics and land use permits to activity suggestions, community resources, and cultural context. With this guide in hand, you’ll be able to explore Adak with a better sense of how to navigate one of Alaska’s most remote communities.

Rooted in Purpose & Place

Developed by Aleut Ventures—a wholly owned subsidiary of Aleutthis guide is part of a broader effort to support responsible access, economic revitalization, and cultural stewardship on Adak Island.

Aleut represents more than 5,000 Unangax̂ shareholders and descendants with ancestral ties to the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands. After Adak Island was taken from the Unangax̂ people by Russian colonizers in the 1830s, it wasn’t until 2004 that Aleut was able to regain a portion of the land through a federal Land Transfer Agreement. Today, Aleut and Aleut Ventures together play a key role in the island’s revitalization—supporting infrastructure, promoting sustainable tourism, and investing in local businesses.
